SCEA Ty Glas
Our clients, the three BIZIEN brothers, based in Brittany on an 8-hectare Venlo greenhouse site dedicated to tomato production, entrusted us in 2020 with the renewal of 4 hectares of their operation. The objective was to modernize their facilities and increase their production. The previous 4-hectare greenhouse, although relatively new, was carefully dismantled and resold as second-hand equipment for reuse. The new greenhouse was equipped with diffuse glass featuring an anti-reflective coating to maximize light entry and diffusion. To further enhance light diffusion, the poles and trellis beams were coated in white.
Energy efficiency was also a major concern for our clients. As a result, the greenhouse was fitted with side screens to retain heat and lateral walls made of 16 mm polycarbonate, providing better insulation than 4 mm single-pane glass. The construction was completed in a short period to minimize the impact on our client’s production. With half of their greenhouses out of operation, it was crucial to avoid delays for the upcoming season.
